Professional 3D Printing and Additive Manufacturing

Now accepting launch projects

Exact Scanning Solutions provides in-house filament 3D printing – also known as Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) – for prototypes, replacement parts, engineering aids and custom components.

Using our enclosed five-toolhead Original Prusa XL, we can manufacture large, detailed, flexible and multi-material parts from customer-supplied files – or manage the complete process from 3D scanning and reverse engineering through to the finished print.

  • 360 x 360 x 360 mm build volume
  • Five independent toolheads
  • Multi-material and multi-colour capability
  • Enclosed printing environment
  • TPU flexible-part capability

From digital design to physical component

Our 3D-printing service supports businesses, engineers, designers and specialist vehicle or marine projects that need physical parts without conventional tooling or lengthy manufacturing lead times.

We can work from:

  • Customer-supplied CAD or mesh files
  • Existing components captured by 3D scanning
  • Reverse-engineered CAD models
  • Prototype designs requiring physical validation
  • Replacement parts that are no longer commercially available

Every enquiry is reviewed for geometry, material, strength, environment and intended use before we recommend a printing approach.

3D Printing

Typical applications

Functional prototypes

Produce physical parts for design reviews, fit checks, assembly testing and iterative product development.

Replacement and obsolete parts

Recreate suitable components when original replacements or manufacturing data are unavailable.

Jigs, fixtures and workshop aids

Produce custom tools, positioning aids, drilling guides, protective covers and practical workshop components.

Custom automotive parts

Manufacture suitable interior, trim, mounting, routing and low-load custom components for specialist projects.

Low-volume parts

Produce small batches without investing in moulds or conventional production tooling.

Display and presentation models

Create scale models, demonstration pieces and multi-colour presentation components.

Our printing capability

Original Prusa XL with five toolheads

Our five-toolhead Original Prusa XL uses independent extruders that can change automatically during printing.

  • Multi-colour parts
  • Multi-material parts
  • Models using dedicated support material
  • Components combining rigid and flexible features where technically suitable
  • Complex geometry with reduced material-change waste
  • Multiple parts or variations within one controlled build

Large build volume

The printer provides a maximum build envelope of 360 x 360 x 360 mm. The practical usable size depends on geometry, orientation, supports and material. Larger components may be divided and assembled where the design and intended use allow.

Enclosed printing environment

The dedicated enclosure helps maintain a more stable environment for materials susceptible to drafts, temperature variation and warping. Its advanced filtration system is designed to reduce odours and ultrafine particle release during suitable printing processes.

Materials

Material selection depends on the component’s intended use, operating temperature, loading, flexibility, finish and environmental exposure. Final material availability is confirmed during quotation.

The Prusa XL platform and enclosure support a broad range of filament types. Depending on project requirements and validated in-house profiles, options can include PLA, PETG, Flex, PVA, PC, PP, CPE, PVB, ASA, ABS, HIPS, PA, polycarbonate, nylon, polypropylene and fibre-reinforced composites.

Some combinations are unsuitable for multi-material printing because of differences in processing temperature, adhesion or shrinkage. Suitability is confirmed during project review.
